AMIA celebrated its Annual function on 26thMay 2018 at Auburn community centre. Attendees over 350 included people representing various communities, other faiths from various social & cultural backgrounds, other associations and media.The function was presided by the president Mohammed Hashim.
In his speech, the Guest of Honour Indian Consul General of India Mr. Vanalalvawna extended his blessings and warm wishes to the guests.The programme commenced with the speeches of AMIA president with feeling of inspiration and cooperation among people and shared with the audience the various AMIA activities organised under his leadership. Chief guests included representation by Councillor Kun Huang on behalf of Opposition leader Hon Luke Foley MP and Inspector Emma Watson & Rachna Malik representing NSW Police Force.
Other guests included Babu Varghese from Sydney Malayalee Association, Deeju Sivadas from SBS radio Malayalam, Vish Vishwanath editor Indian Telegragh, Jacob Thomas, Kerala nadam, Binu V George, Metro Malayalam, Sreeni Pillamari -President of United India Association, Writer and Hindu Faith representative Mahesh Trivedi, Abbas Raza Alvi-President of ICSOA (Indian Crescent Society of Australia Incorporated) , Office bearers and members from Gujarati Muslim Association, TAMS, and AMU Alumni of Australia.
Br Farhan Khaleel was invited as the Key Note Speaker and spoke on “Ramadan Message”, Sister Iqra Akbar talked on “Women in Islam” and Father Jose Manjali Wished Ramadan greetings to all. Speeches were delivered by Indian Consul General Mr. Vanlalvawna, Emma Watson, Hon. Luke Foley representative Councillor Kun Huang, Deeju Sivadas, Vish Vishwanath, Mahesh Trivedi.
Dr. Ali Parappil, Vice President delivered the Vote of Thanks.
