Some visa holders need to re-enrol in Medicare

If you’re an Unauthorised Maritime Arrival on a Bridging visa, or Temporary Protection or Safe Haven Enterprise visa holder, your Medicare card is due to expire on or before 31 December 2017. Visit a Medicare Service Centre as soon as possible to apply for your new card. Don’t wait for your card to expire.

What you need to bring with you

  • Completed Medicare Enrolment Application form
  • Passport or Immicard
  • Details of your current visa
  • A letter or email from the Administrative Appeals Tribunal if you’ve lodged an appeal against a refused visa decision.
