Message of ICSOA’s President

19th December 2017

Dear Friends,

We are at the ending point of this year. Just thought we should thank everyone who supported our cause. You are one of them so here goes Thank You.

At this moment, it is also important to reconcile the past. The past is a central dimension of the reconciliation. Reconciliation is essential for a better future. A future which can move us from a divided past towards a united future.

If we glimpsed the year 2017, we have seen, faced and felt number of atrocities in 2017 (like shooting of innocents, terrorist attacks around the world, lynching of Indians and displaced refugee crisis of Rohingyas & Arabs) which were disturbing and stressful for all of us. These atrocities were not at all in the interest of the humanity or to improve the peace in this world. Further there are threats of racial and religious discriminations, nuclear wars, world health issues, political & economical uncertainties in number of countries.

Peace at this moment is the most important and highly needed necessity for the survival of this world and the humanity.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S) said: “Anyone who goes to make peace between two persons, the angels of Allah send blessings upon him until he returns and he will be given the reward of the Night of Destiny (Laylat al-Qadr).”

Let us decide that during the coming year 2018, every one of us shall perform or participate at least one such initiative which can contribute towards the development of peace in our routine life. Life is an accessible diary filled with empty pages of peace waiting for us. Let us fill them up with our stories as we go.

May the coming New Year bring us a peace filled life, warmth and togetherness in our family and much prosperity for all human being as a true Happy New Year 2018.

Have a year as fragrant as roses, as brilliant as the sun, as colourful as the rainbow and as cheerful as the lark.

With best regards,
Abbas Raza Alvi
