ICSOA- Health Seminar

"What everyone should know about heart disease"

Heart disease (Coronary heart disease) is one of the main causes of death in Australia, with 19,777 deaths (12% of all deaths) attributed to heart disease in Australia in 2015. Heart disease kills one Australian every 27 minutes.

Heart disease is one of Australia's largest health problems. Despite improvements over the last few decades, it remains one of the biggest burdens on our economy.

It is estimated over 400,000 Australians has had a heart attack at some time in their lives. Each year, around 54,000 Australians suffer a heart attack. This equates to one heart attack every 10 minutes.

Health education with a particular focus to healthy eating and active living has been shown to be a very effective in reducing the burden of heart disease in many research studies. Indian Crescent Society of Australia (ICSOA) have organised a free community health education seminar on "What everyone should know about heart disease" on 29th April 2017 between 230 pm-430 pm at Berala Community Centre, 98-104 Woodburn road, Berala NSW.
