Former diplomat and IFS officer Syed Shahabuddin passed away in Delhi India.

Mr Shahabuddin was born in Ranchi in 1935. He was the resident of Karimganj locality of Gaya town. Completed his school from Haridas. He had hit the headlines in 1950 by breaking a 33-year-old record and getting 665 marks in the matriculation examinations.

Mr Shahabuddin joined Indian Foreign Service in 1958 and served as a vice-consul and consul in New York from 1959-61. He was the second topper in the 1958 UPSC exams of IFS. He served Rajya Sabha as a member from Bihar during 1979-84 and a Lok Sabha member from Kishanganj from 1985 to 1989 and 1991 to 1996.

It is very well known that he was not only a very good officer and a leader, but was also a good human being. He was known a man of honour and integrity.

Muslim community in India as well as in Australia consider this a biggest loss for Indian Muslim community.

Our heart goes to his family. We in ICSOA pray to almighty Allah to admit him in Jannah.
